Yossi Benayoun Caps -49 Goals -11
Benayoun is considered as being one of the finest Israeli football players of the 21st century. At only the tender age of 17, Benayoun played for Hapoel Be’er Sheva, scoring an astonishing 15 goals in only 25 appearances for the club. The following season, Benayoun moved to Maccabi Haifa and became an instant success at the club. In total he scored 55 goals in only 130 appearances for the club. His goals and skill helped Haifa win the Israeli league in the 2000/01 season.
He moved to Spain in the summer of 2003, signing for Racing de Santander. In total he appeared on over 100 occasions for the club, scoring just over twenty goals.
Benayoun was a key member of the Israel football team which narrowly missed out in qualifying for the 2006 world cup finals; in fact, he was Israel’s leading goal scorer in qualifying.

Katan began his professional playing career in 1998, playing for Maccabi Haifa. He spent eight seasons with the club, playing 223 matches for the side. Katan was a regular in the Haifa side which played in the Champions league during the 2002-03 season. Katan’s impressive performances for his club and country earned him a move to West ham United in December 2005. He made a number of appearances for the club, however, Katan moved back to Haifa at the end of the season, and is now playing on loan at Maccabi Haifa.
